FAQs
Q: Where will we be fishing?
A: Based in the Twin Cities of Minnesota we are lucky enough to be positioned in the middle of many great fisheries. Generally speaking, most trips are within an hour of the Twin Cities but fishing is dependent on season, water levels, what type of experience the client wants and many other factors. I do my best to choose the best piece of water for that day to give us a good chance of having a great day on the water. After booking, I will get a hold of the client to plan out the best piece of water to best fit their wants and needs.
Q: What should I bring?
A: What you bring is dependent on what we are doing and where we are going. But, a general rule that spans all trips is that I provide all gear for fishing. Rods, reels, flys, waders (if needed), watercraft and all terminal tackle along with much more that is needed to have a safe and fun day on the water. All you need to worry about is a fishing license, appropriate clothes, sunglasses and any specific drinks or snacks you’d like on the water. I will take care of everything else and am happy to help with any questions or requests as we get closer to our time on the water. I will reach out before your trip with any suggestions for clothes as this will be weather dependent.
Q: Can I bring my son/daughter along?
A: Absolutely! As a father to three young girls I find some of my best times on the water are with them and encourage everyone to get their kids outside whenever possible. When booking, let me know if you plan to bring them along and we will work together to set up the right trip for you AND for your child.
Q: I have a big group that I want to spend time with on the water, can you accommodate that?
A: Generally two anglers is what I can guide comfortably on my own. Reach out today and we can try to accommodate any larger groups or I will put you in touch with a trusted guide locally that is geared more towards larger groups.
Q: I’ve never Fly Fished before, do you teach first time guests?
A: Of course! I have taught many people that have never touched a fly rod before and enjoy the challenge of teaching and guiding first time fly fishers. Fair warning, you’ll likely be leaving our trip with a new found hobby so user discresion is advised.
Q: How do I pay for my trip?
A:At the time of setting up a guided trip, a down payment of $100 will be taken and this will reserve your spot on the calendar. This is refundable if you need to cancel a trip as long as it has been cancelled a minimum of 14 days prior to your trip. The remaining amount can be payed in person (Cash, Venmo, Check) on the day of your trip or anytime after booking before your trip.
